ETHICALLY MANAGED. RESPONSIBLY MANAGED. PURE. NATURE'S SUPERFOOD Tahi's honey is not just about honey - its about ecology, intention and passion. It's about making the right choices for your health, for the environment, for the community, and for the bees.

Tahi Manuka Honey is gathered from the flowers of the Manuka tree, a species found only in New Zealand. Unlike other honey, Manuka honey contains powerful antibacterial properties, making it extremely effective in treating a wide variety of health conditions.

Used throughout history for its restorative and healing properties, it is only in the last decade that the modern medical establishment has begun to consider using Manuka honey to treat a number of skin and digestive ailments.

Any commercial venture at Tahi balances the integrity and diversity of the environment with economic sustainability and community involvement. This theory is present in all decisions throughout Tahi Honey, from beehive to tabletop.

Why is our Tahi Manuka honey so special?

Our honey is 100% natural. It is free from chemicals, antibiotics and genetically modified or engineered organisms.

We leave our bees with enough honey to thrive in the winter. So rather than stripping all honey from the hive and feeding white sugar or corn syrup, as is standard commercial practise, we leave the bees their own honey to feed on. Only very occasionally, in extreme weather conditions, we may have to feed certain hives with some sugar water for a short period.

Using profits from honey sales and guest accommodation to restore the land at Tahi, we aim to provide our bees with the best, most natural habitat possible.
