So how do we adhere to our pillars of guidance while addressing the ‘cradle to gate’ carbon footprint that is inherent to any financial venture? - Our first objective is to follow the waste hierarchy rule – to reduce, reuse and recycle. Anything outside this sphere is then offset.

So what is so special about Tahi manuka honey?

1) Bees are left enough honey to thrive in the winter rather than stripping all honey and feeding white sugar.

2) All profits support conservation of biodiversity at Tahi.

3) We offset our carbon footprint from hive to store.

4) We offset by planting native indigenous trees, restoring wetlands and practicing pest control to conserve and enhance the ecosphere at Tahi.

5) We employ from and support, the local community.

6) Our bees are not housed indoors or trucked away during the winter months hence decreasing the carbon footprint.
